It’s a personal trainer’s job to develop an appropriate workout, motivate you, ensure that you use proper form to prevent injuries, and ultimately, hold you accountable.
So how am I different than other trainers:
Communication and Personalization:
I am an excellent listener and am committed to helping my clients achieve their goals. I look forward to hearing about your day, listening to your stories and thoughts, but I will keep you moving so you get your workout completed. Even if you don’t enjoy exercising, we will have fun and enjoy the hour together. Before you know it, your workout is complete and you can feel good that you did this for yourself and then move on with your day.
Experience:
I am not fresh out of college just getting started like many trainers in the gyms. I have been in the fitness industry for over 20 years. I completely understand the challenges of balancing family, work (outside or inside the home) and life responsibilities.
Passion:
I live a healthy lifestyle and I am living proof that it is possible to reach your goals through wise choices while you are still enjoying the fun that life has to offer.
Technical Expertise:
I understand the importance of proper posture – in our everyday life and in our activities. I am stickler on proper form and stress holding this proper form throughout your time with me to prevent injury and get the most out of each exercise you perform. I’ll assess your abilities and limitations and start you on the appropriate plan. I know how to train from the absolute beginner to the client who needs intensity. Strength training will be the biggest part of your program, but the variety that I use to train you will keep you interested and will make your session time fly by.
Flexibility:
I am willing to work with your schedule no matter how crazy it may be. We will find time to get your sessions completed each week. You will be able to communicate with me easily regarding questions you have.
Getting you started is always exciting for me. Your time is valuable so we will jump right in and get busy.
During our first session we will get your workout started after I conduct an initial evaluation that will include:
Discussion: I need to learn your current goals, health, lifestyle, physical fitness level and current nutrition habits.
Questionnaire: You will complete a questionnaire that will give me insight into your current health, occupation, hobbies and past exercise history.
Physical Assessment: You will perform a dynamic posture and movement assessment. These simple exercises will help me evaluate how your body moves and will tell me if there are any imbalances we need to address. I will also be able to determine your appropriate workout level. We will measure your resting heart rate and we will take your measurements and weight (if your are comfortable with this).
Plan Development: We will discuss my findings and decide which of my exercise plans best fits your needs and wants.
Workout: We will get a workout in on your very first visit with me! So be dressed ready to go with some water in hand.
As a rule of thumb, our body composition is determined by 80% nutrition and 20% activity.
What does this mean?
The 20% will determine your body shape. I will handle your workouts based on your goals. But, you will ultimately be in charge of what you eat. I won’t be
with you throughout the day, so we need ways to keep you on track with your nutrition.
What should I eat?
This is the most frequently asked question I get from my clients, friends, family, and even strangers. I will consult with you about proper nutrition and get you started on a healthy, fulfilling meal plan.
How can you track your food?
It is a proven fact that logging your food intake is an extremely useful tool when trying to make a body shape change. I encourage my clients to use MyFitnessPal and allow me access to your account. I will have access to your entries and will be reviewing them. I will contact you with suggestions when I see you are making questionable choices.
You will have online tools and trackers available to you to help you determine your goal and track your progress.

Packages and Rates
I’m often asked my opinion on training frequency. To make a change in your physique/health, we should meet at least three times each week. If you want to maintain your current health, we should me at least twice a week.
