About Me

Hi!

My name is Whitney and I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and owner of my own mobile personal training business.  I train my clients in their home, their place of business, my home or a local park. I also am a Fourth Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, a Certified Instructor in Krav Maga (the Israeli hand-to-hand self-defense system) and a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  I’m 55+ years old, a wife of 30+ years and mother of three wonderful children (and two doggies too).  Some of my hobbies include, weight lifting,  racquetball, mountain biking, hiking, gardening, landscaping, car detailing and building things.

How I Got Started

Athletics and exercise have always been my hobbies and areas of interest.  I guess you could call me “the family tomboy”.  Throughout the years, I have often been asked by family and friends how they could make changes in their lives to become healthier and more fit.    It was always a pleasure to help and extremely rewarding when I could see those that I helped feel and look stronger and healthier.   I realized that I wanted to turn to Personal Training as a profession so I could help as many folks as possible be healthier and happier.   I have been teaching martial arts classes and self-defense to men, women and children of all levels for 18 years. So, it made sense to me to continue teaching self defense and blend that into Personal Training if it was a good fit for my client.

Why I Do It

Helping folks feel better and seeing them proud of themselves is my motivation.  I love what I do!  I look forward to seeing each of my clients and getting their report on how they feel after our previous workout.  Seeing them smile and hearing them say how good it feels to stretch out and grow strength is always a highlight in my day.  It is my goal to show you that you can  feel healthy and strong throughout your life because enjoying life with our families and friends is essential to our happiness.
