I wanted to take a self defense class, especially before leaving for college. My best friend and I decided we would, and I can honesty say it’s been one of the smartest decisions I’ve made. I have learned so much from Whitney, not just physically, but mentally as well. I feel comfortable in the moves I have been taught, as well as the advice about general safety. Each class we would learn new moves, in addition to reviewing old ones. Whitney was excellent in teaching us, making sure we had every move down until we moved on. She is very skilled in what she does, and it is great to learn from such an experienced trainer, not to mention extremely fun! I am so glad I took self defense from Whitney and would highly recommend it to any one interested!

I have had chronic back pain since I injured my back years ago.  I have seen numerous chiropractors, to no avail.  My wife was working out with Whitney, so I asked her what she thought about my back, and she immediately recommended strengthening my core.  Instead of simply putting a muscle building plan together, Whitney suggested a comprehensive stretching program to stretch not only my back but my glutes, hamstrings and all muscles that are ultimately connected to the lower back.  After stretching and working out with Whitney for just a few weeks, my back strength now allows me to bend over without feeling that nagging twinge or stab.  Thank you Whitney!

In September of 2013 my Brownie Girl Scout Troop met with Whitney to earn our My Best Self Badge.  Whitney designed a very fun program for the girls which incorporated fitness and self defense.  The girls loved it!  Whitney was great with the girls and they all commented on how they would like to learn more self defense.   It was the perfect program for our group of 8/9 year old girls.

At my company we try to have a bimonthly get together just for the female financial advisors in my region. We use this time to share ideas and opportunities that may be unique for women. We also try to have a speaker or topic to bring us additional knowledge. Recently we had Whitney Tegethoff do a program for us entailing safety and ways to protect ourselves for a group of eight of us. Everyone was very impressed with her knowledge and technique. We learned that a few key strategies will go a long way for defense. She also discussed knowing your self and trusting your awareness. It was a great program … and we’ve even held a follow up additional meeting. You should consider an event like this for women of all ages and occupations!

I have experienced many home relocations and therefore used many personal trainers. So, I can easily spot a great trainer when I see one working. Yes, it is a little more expense than working out by yourself at the gym, but you will maximize every minute you spend working with a trainer. Not a minute will be wasted. If you live in West St. Louis County, you are fortunate to have Whitney available to you. Whitney is an outstanding personal trainer! She can detect any area in your body that needs work and within a short time, she has it fixed. Whitney is passionate about her training and definite about having her clients do it RIGHT – NOT HALFWAY. Over the last few years I changed my life style. In 1 year and 8 months of inactivity, eating fried foods and copious beer curls I put on 40 pounds and spread from a size 4 jean and size 6 dress to a sad size 14.

I was so out of shape, fat and flabby I didn’t know where to start.

I reached out to Whitney to help me lose the 40 pounds, get back my toned physique and into my size 4 jeans and size 6 special dress. Whitney started me out at the perfect level where I wouldn’t get injured or be so sore I couldn’t do the next session.

Within just one month (which included 9 sessions with Whitney) I lost 10 lbs, 1 1/2″ off my waist, 1″ off my hips, and 1/2″ off my bat wing arms and my strength and balance have dramatically improved.

Her workouts are fun and have a variety that keeps me motivated. I delayed my summer vacation 1 week to stay and work out with Whitney. I have also booked her for when I return to St. Louis until I leave for Florida.

I’m feeling great and confident I will reach my goal as long as I stick with Whitney’s training and expertise!

My masseuse says she can see the definition coming back and I’m down one size.

Whitney Tegethoff motivated the women of Lydia Circle at Manchester United  Methodist Church to become more aware of their surroundings and avoid danger when possible.  She maintained interest throughout by her personal stories and research which identified soft versus hard targets.  She shared also that women should carry bags in their hands so that they can be dropped easily.  Whitney’s sharing elicited stories from the audience that educated all. She gave a great presentation and a powerful physical demonstration.  Thanks Angie for being the test subject.
